Message i know, i know, flame away.

Here's the situation:

I order a set of stillen v2 sideskirts for my 350z on november 21st, from Z1 because they haven't done me wrong so far. Their website shows nothing about not having them in stock. I select two day shipping (on a 66 pound package), since my car is going into the bodyshop november 27th. I assume they'll be shipped within a reasonable amount of time to get here by early the next week (remember thanksgiving will take a day out of the shipping picture)

I get a call from shawn that afternoon. He tells me that they don't have them in stock, that no one stocks them, and that stillen makes them on a per order basis. I tell him to cancel the order. He assures me that stillen will make them, pop them out of the molds, have them drop shipped to me within 24 hours, and that I'll definitely have them by midweek (november 29th ish). I guess I can live with that, so I don't cancel the order.

November 29th rolls around, and I get an e-mail form Jt, giving me my tracking number. Tracking number doesn't work. I ask him to check it, he replies with "if it doesn't work by monday (dec 4th), ask me again" He also informs me that they're picking up the package on november 30th. This is after being assured that the package would be in my hands by november 29th. I'm a bit annoyed, because I've been stringing along my bodyshop waiting for these parts.

Monday, dec. 4th rolls around. Tracking number still doesn't work. Another e-mail. Finally get the right tracking number, since "someone who doesn't speak very good english" gave them the tracking number, and they mistook a 7 for a 6. Sounds a little fishy. But my package is finally in the system. Tracking shows that the package was picked up on the 30th, and should be delivered by the 6th - and it shows a 65 pound package. Ok, things are a little late, and being shipped ground (which apparently was the 2 day shipping method I paid for, but now it is coming from southern california instead of georgia, and will hence take a full week for shipping), but at least I have a package on its way to me.

Today rolls around. Still no package. Check the tracking - Now the package is shown as 98.3 pounds (wtf?), and has moved from placentia, CA to los angeles CA, a distance of 28 miles, from november 30th, to december 6th. It shows no entry for having left los angeles, and now shows an estimated delivery date of december 12th. Jt claims it's the snowstorm's fault. He claims there have been lots of calls asking about parts. Seems to me they should have informed their customers if this was a problem they knew about.

Now, I realize that some of this isn't entirely Z1's fault, and they're car parts, not a transplant organ. The wrong tracking number is pretty weak, esp. after I asked them to check it. Assuring me that I would have it a week and a half ago is also pretty weak, rather than just letting me cancel the order. Not informing customers that their parts are going to be late when they know their shipping company is having a problem is also a little suspect.

So i've pushed back the bodyshop appointment again, and i guess crossing my fingers.
